Jtamulis Product Review: JT56Lightning

Specs: I ordered the JT56Lightning with the P-Trim exhaust housing (56mm Compressor, P-Trim Exhaust)
Cost: $1250 + Lines, +shipping.

All I can say is WOW!! I finally got my car running after a summer of pain in the ass problems. Initially my friends started off just planning on fixing my exhaust leak. That lead to looking at my rebuilt turbo. That lead to rebuilding the head and installing a metal head gasket. With all that I decided to upgrade my turbo. That's where Jeff Tamulis (jtamulis) came in. After several long conversations and numerous emails, we decided on the JT56Lightning. I wanted a car that is really streetable and not so much turbo lag that I can only boost when out on the highway. The JT56Lighting turbo has exceeded my expectations. Initially I could only get her to boost at 10 lbs or so and I was disappointed. I suspected a boost leak but could not hear one. Last week my nephew replaced my lower intercooler pipe with the after market one I bought here several months ago. Holy SH*T!! I must have had a boost leak I couldn't hear. My hose post turbo was rotten, right at the clamp. I am now boosting up to 1.5 bars in 3rd gear. It is like a completely different car. From 45 to 125 is crazy. Glad I have a fuzz buster. Stomped on a newer GT Mustang 2 nights ago. We were side by side at around 55 mph. I was in 4th, dropped her in 3rd just as he punched it. Initially I was about 2 car lengths behind, but not for very long. The acceleration was awesome. He didn't have a chance. Too bad I had to slow down to make my turn. I would have loved to try him from a stop. Jeff has assisted me with my many questions and his customer support is and was far superior than 99% of small businessman I have dealt with. Highly recommended.

Yes, I know she needs tuning. Any idea how many more h/p I should gain? I have found a small garage that has installed the MAFT-PRO, but will probably have to wait until spring as they are talking snow later this week. So she will go in the garage for the winter. The interior will be redone, rear end gone through and also looking at coil overs and bushings for the front end.

Well, I figure you're at 340-375 now, so with proper tuning on pump gas I think
400-425 should be very easy. You have the P-Trim rear, so it has more lag,
but more power than a standard JT56L. You could prolly hit 450+rwhp on race
gas, possibly even more depending on tune and temperature.
