JDM vs US spec CT-26

Anyone has any experience rebuilding a JDM CT-26 Turbo ? I ordered a rebuild kit but the turbine end piston ring does not fit, the guy I bought it from says it is the right size for a US spec CT-26. The piston ring that came off the turbo is made with 0.037" thick wire, but the new ring is 0.043", OD are the same so once it is on the turbine shaft the new ring would not close and won't fit the CHRA. I really don't want to reinstall the old piston ring. Any help is appreciated.

I noticed differences in the WG actuator, as far as the compressor or exhaust turbine I havn't noticed anything.

Is the turbine shaft same for all CT-26 ? My problem is the ring groove on the turbine side is more shallow that other Ct-26. Kinda stuck now and if all fail I may have to reuse the old ring. Anyone knows of a turbo shop familar with CT-26 ?

shoot a pm to MDC motorsports here on this board, he has his own section and modifies stock ct's and rebuilds them he should know
