I tried searching for what seemed like a easy thing to find but had no luck.

My friend was asking me about the JZA70 fog inserts that i put into my pre89 lamp, because when i was following him home he said he didnt believe me until i had switched on the lamps. Do the JDM/Euro Foglamps not have that metal reflector piece inside the lamps?

You mean the blinder?

There are different lenses as well (HKS_TRD has em)

Ah is that what there are called? (The metal box thing on the inside if so then yes the blinders)

From what i can see the lenses themselves arent any different

What are the different lenses? I'm thinking of getting some Euro capsules to put inside my fogs. I wasn't planning on using the lenses. Since this has been brought up what are the differences in lenses for the JDM/USDM/EDM fogs? Is the blinder used on certain models, years, does it make any difference?

I'm asking now because instead of popping in capsules I'd like to find out what the best lens/capsule/blinder combo for me.

Most of the capsules I've seen remove the blinder, which isn't a good thing as then you'll be directly viewing the bulb and causing glare.

The fogs that HKS_TRD got his hands on are more driving lights and send a different beam pattern (cut more like a headlight) and would more than like blind people if used on a LHD.

There are quite a few different part numbers. Just listing for an 89+ and just the right side:
81211-14111
81211-14121
81211-14141
81211-14142
81211-14152
81211-14131

So do real actual JDM/Euro Fogs have the blinders or do they not? Im a bit confused.

Thanks

eBay although its a lot easier to make your own. All you need is the foglamp capsule insert. Judging from the pic of Euro foglamps I guess its safe to assume there is no blinder on the inside. Is there a reason for this? I've look at the lens pattern of JDM and USDM ones are they are exactly the same minus the blinders. Pros and Cons to not running them?

Pics if you will?

Would you say the beam pattern was better or worse?

Ive seen the pre89 JDM Lamps they have the same lense pattern i dont know about 89+

Once we get all the info on the different foglamps we should have this stickied

yes there's metal inside, they just inserted the capsule..

I have real JDM fogs on my blue one, and my own RazoE-brand JDM style capsules on my 89...

I created replica pre 89 JDM fogs using my RazoE-brand capsules, and they appear the same, makes me wish I hadn't wasted $100 on pre 89 JDM fogs but it was worth it in the end..

So confirmed that JDM/Euro Foglamps have the the metal box (blinders) on the inside. The Austrailian market fogs are driving lamps (no blinders) rather than foglamps.

These from a JDM Ma70

Im guessing they remove the box sheild on the inside and use those reflectors on the bulb half itself. That does help quite a bit explains why the blinders arent on JDM/Euro foglamps. So then i guess its also safe to assume the blinders have to be present if those sheilds on the bulb holder itself isnt there.

those are 89+ versions, as the inserts are removable, pre 89's are removable, but not with screws, the back must be pulled out with pliers or something similar..
