I have been running *very* lean in the 3-4k range under part throttle, the dangerous spot that we are told shows itself when you remove your EGR system and run a USDM ECU. Vf always seem to be normal when the off-the-chart lean condition shows itself. To fix this, or so I hoped, I purchased a JDM ECU (picture attached) and installed it today. The car started up and idled/ran great with a Vf of 2volts and drove just as my USDM ECU Did. I was not happy to see that the lean spot was still there and that the JDM ECU didn't seem to have any effect on that area the lean issue I was trying to fix.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Everything I had read indicated that the JDM ECU should help resolve troubles in this area when the EGR system was removed, and I believe the one I have with the purple label is a JDM. Where did I go wrong?
Thanks,
Craig
