what are all the differences between the jdm and us motors? So my list is that

-There is no egr on the jdm

-oil presure sending unit is diff on the jdm and you have to use your us or else it will fry your guage

-Throtlle body linkage is different, its made for a direct linkage setup and only has one vacuum port while U.S. has 2

- the brake boost vacuum port faces the wrong way

-The wrap around heater pipe is set up for a rhd car

- thermostat housing is different. Jdm has only one connector while the us has 2

Any thing else that im missing?

my questions is to fix the return heater hose problem, can i get away with just running a hose for the us return line location to the passenger side of the jdm return line on the block?? Yes i kno that it would be some funky hose wiring and a long ass hose but i do not have access to a usdm hard coolant lines for the block and this will only be temporary?

thank you

That's what I did and it holds up just fine :)

sweet it was a either do that or take a sawzaw and cut right where the cap is and cap off the other end like on the us and run the hose that way, but i dont really wanna cut shyt lol do you have any pics of your setup? Im curious to see if theres still enough room to run it behind the block and the firewall tuck away or run it across the head.

Thank you tho, my headache is relieved lol.

Depends on the year of the engine. Pre-89 has both ports and they just block one with a rubber cap (no cutting involved) depending on if it's RHD or LHD, and 89+ had different pipes for RHD or LHD (you'd have to modify this one by cutting and brazing on another pipe, FAR easier to just swap)

The pipe wouldn't be hard to swap, but the engine MUST be out of the car...

I drilled mine out, and capped the other end. I drilled it because I wanted a lil lip. So the old cap is basically still there but has a hole in it, and smoothed off with a file so it doesnt tear up the hose.Never had a problem.

Heres a pic of what I did.

I'll see if I can get a pic when I put the engine back in. It's really just a hose that goes from the JDM opening on the engine, curves up and over the valve covers, and to the port on the firewall. I just leave it alongside the other shorter hose that comes out of the middle of the back of the head, plenty of space. No one's ever commented on it and there was no drilling or capping involved =)

This was my solution as well, also had no problems.

I ran the JDM oil press. sending unit for a while and it didn't fry my gauge. My gauge also read the same with the JDM or USDM sending unit.

Wait, so if I have my blown US engine and I buy a JDM engine are there any real foreseeable hang ups getting the new one in. I can just take all the working stuff off my US engine and put it on the JDM long block right?

Yes, you can do it. as for the coolant hardpipe, I cut the cap off mine, and crimped, and brazed the jdm outlet. Worked perfect.
