All, I have started the rebuild/conversion of my 88 n/a Supra to a bad a$$ 88 sleeper Turbo. I bought the car for $300. The new engine will be here tomorrow and the old one is ready to come out. After giving Jeff at HPF about $7K of my hard earned money and my garage becoming a MK III parts warehouse, Iam ready to begin.

I have been reading up on the forums on the conversion but will have problems Iam SURE I will need some MK III expert help on.

Here are the mods in the garage:

AEM, Cam Gears Tru-Time Adjustable
Apexi, Fuel Computers S-AFC II (NEW Version 2) Black Face Limited Edition
D2, Coilovers RS MKIII F & R Upper Pillowball (in development, be here late Oct)
Fidanza, Flywheels
Flex-a-lite dual electric fan
HKS, Head Gaskets Metal Stopper (2.0mm thick, 86mm bore)
SPEC, Clutch Kits Toyota Stage 3 Sprung (X-Pad Disc)
Denso, Spark Plugs Iridium
Walbro, Fuel Pumps High Flow (Pump and Install Kit Combo)
RC Engineering, Injectors Peak and Hold
ARP, Head Studs
Eagle, Connecting Rods H Beams 4340 Forged Chromoly Steel 7M
Greddy, Timing Belts
KN, Intake Systems Fuel Injection Performance Kits Turbo
JE, Pistons 7MGTE, 83.50mm Bore, 8.4:1 CR, -18.5CC Dish, (.020 Over)
JE, Piston Rings Rings
PowerSlot, Brake Rotors all around

and I think Iam about to give Jeff another couple grand for a SP61GT w/BIC DDP.

Here are the pictures:

Take care and I will try to post as much as possible with pics.

Jay

I forgot a couple of mods:

Super Drager catback system
Lexus AFM

I would be interested in hearing what kind of HP people think its going to make when complete.

Here are some updated pictures. Started the tear down of the 7m. Had to reorder the 7MGTE from a new supplier, the last one "lost the engine". As soon as it gets here (late this week), this one comes out and the new one gets tore down and sent to the machine shop. Went there today to get an estimate:

Bore and Hone cylinders
resurface block
resurface head
clean polish crank
balance crank
valve job
mount pistons and rods

Total price: $700-800 he said.

Also, I went full blown on the turbo and ic. I bought the HPF Stage I turbo kit and IC kit ($4k).

Here are some pictures since I know you guys like pictures and videos.

make sure someone who knows how to gap your piston rings (your mechanic, not you :icon_razz ) does it, unless you reall can. Just tell him to add it on while you have him mount the pistons. It didn't cost me much for my machinist to ring mine.

Well I dropped the fuel tank tonight to do the fuel pump swap out and broke the line out right next to the top (no way to use a connector, too close to the top), it looks like it is all one piece so I think I have to replace the entire pump holder. Anyone have one of these?

JDM motor finally arrived after having to reorder the first one because "they lost it". I ordered through a new company and got one it two weeks. It looks pretty clean and looks to have very low milage.

Pulled the engine today. Put the new engine on the stand to dismantle tomorrow and take to machine shop.

Here are some pics. No problems taking the engine out, forgot one fuel line that stopped us for about 5 min and then figured that one out.

why dont you run goodrige braided lines in -6 from the holder to the rail and bypass the one of the block in the process and tap them in

or

weld section on bottomn of tank and un external a1000 pump like duane's car

i'll see if i can find a pic

I could do that to but the new holder is only 50 bucks, 12 feet of braided line would run the same amount, add connectors and now its more.

Anyone have an uncut wiring harness?

Christmas came early, the turbo/ic kit arrived. This is HPF Stage 1 kit with the huge 4" downpipe.
