Anybody remember 2JZUH8R? It was back when Nick went 2jz with his 2JZUL8R project, I bought a clean shell, and my plan was to go 2jz as well. However, my previous Supras were daily drivers and/or my financial situation wasn't all that great, so it didn't happen. I'm not rich now, but getting better with every month, :naughty: and now that downtime isn't really an issue... I am going to do it. My goal is to be all swapped and rollin' 2jz style by Vegas.

Only time (and the size of my commissions) will tell how crazy, or how modded this baby will be come October, but the project has already started.

So far I have acquired...

USDM twin turbos
RMM downpipe
1jz upgraded 470cc Injectors
1jz Wiring Harness modified for 2jz
and I am keeping the throttle body w/ HKS Super Sequential Blow Off Valve from my 1jz.

This is the motor I am buying from 935 motorsports just as soon as the money comes in from the 1j sale.

The engine is scheduled to come out on or around June 1st when it will be sold to another lucky A70 owner who shall remain nameless unless othwerwise instructed or permitted.

And that's about it for now. To be continued.

I also don't think it's going to be worth all the work to go back to stock twins on a 2jz, especially with a 1jz already in the car with a big single turbo kit on it. But it's Jag's project and if he wants a 2jz then that's what he wants.

I bet he's getting Nick's old twins for cheap/free, and selling the t78 to get the 2jz.

edit:
Ahhhhh, now I got it! I bet Nick is getting the t78 for his 2jz!

Yeah the T78 belongs to Aaron, the previous owner. I am selling the kit for him. The T78 was never mine to begin with. So I had the choice of stock twins on the 1j, single turbo on the 1j, or upgrade to the 2jz for basically the same cost. With ample 2jz parts for sale/trade cheap, I jumped on it.

Not much of an update, but my motor from 935 is missing the lower intake runner. I just bought the replacement from Spoolin Turbo. Not a big update, but one step closer. :naughty:

Brought her home to Irvine today. Here are some pics of my baby safe and sound. She's dirty because my Mom just had sprinklers put in, so there was a bunch of dirt flying around the past couple of days while they installed them.

Front bumper and side skirts removed from when we pulled the motor. You can see the side skirts in the car.

My complex requires that we park 2 cars in the garage so I had to get her in there snugly so the Corolla can park next to me.

The tow truck driver was a surgeon. He backed it in and dropped it this close to the wall with minimal help from me. It's a little crooked but he put it right next to my tranny and stuff up against the wall.

Here's some of the stuff I still have to get from my Mom's house. I have SupraNick's old true twin (no more sequential) set up with the heavy duty spring to hold boost at 16psi. The Mike Urbano modified 1jz to 2jz harness. RMM downpipe complete with wideband 02 sensor bung already welded in. HKS Type S intercooler and a few more goodies I didn't bother to photograph.

I'm glad she's home. I'm still a few bucks shy of picking up the 2j motor, but at least now I can start on my deep clean and get ready to drop the motor in. Trying to decide if I just want to get her running with the stock twins, or if I want to go single from the get-go. Single of course means more money which ultimately means more down time. That wouldn't bother me if Vegas weren't so close.

I'm sure you've seen my threads asking questions about downpipes and engine management trying to figure exactly how much going single would cost. I guess if I buy a engine set complete with ecu and harness and such I can sell some of the stuff I don't need to help pay for the single. I gotta make my decision soon. The clock is ticking.

Thanks for looking. Should have more info soon.
