J-tube bypass?

I'm gonna be installing a AFPR and I've heard that I should bypass the jtube can I just bypass it or does it have to be removed and blocked off???

I suppose you could just bypass it with a hose. I think the kits only for cosmetics.

You don't have to remove it, you just need to bypass it. You can buy a block off plate for it if you want or leave it there. Your choice.

True. You don't NEED to remove it, but I couldn't just do that...
Not to mention you could pick up any of these for plenty cheap, especially the last one... I bought the first one, and it's very nice.
Then, all you need is a longer hose and you're done.

Why do you need to remove it? I thought if you bypass it you can just leave it or grind the tube off if you're too cheap to buy a block off plate?

^^^You are correct. You can do whatever you want with it. Heck, get yourself a 5M oil pump driveshaft, and slap a mechanical fuel pump in there if ya want

it'll just be sitting there like a big fish hook once it's bypassed so you can shave it off or replace it or see what you can catch

it's just part of the fuel line and has a restriction in it by design. For more flow people bypass it, then you can remove it and get a block off for the block or leave it there for decoration

the j tube is there incase the stock fuel pressure regulator craps out. the restriciton in the j tube will cause enough backpressure to maintaing fuel pressure so you could limp home. with high flow pumps, the restriction is TOO much, and causes fuel pressure issues. (ie: too much pressure= running really rich)

one end is fully open, the other end has like a pin-hole opening - that is the restriction for backpressure.
