Hey guys, I was just wondering, what is the advantage to blocking off the JTube on the side of the block? I have seen it a bunch of times and was just curious as to why you block it off. Thanks

I come from a land down under
A lot of people bypass the J Tube then remove the plate and replace it with a Chev fuel pump blockoff plate.

The J Tube has a small restriction to allow the car to limp home in case of a fuel reg failure and with a larger pump this causes the car to run rich.
(it can be drilled out)

what about capping the j tube and just bypassing the tube all in all and running a single softline up past the j tube.

You wouldn't even need to cap it. Just reroute the line and leave it there if you want. I've also seen someone saw the tube off so all that's left is the plate.

that's what i did. then painted it to prevent rust. worked like a charm, and only took a few minutes with a hacksaw and a grinder. :)
