Ok, well I have been an N/A for about 3 yrs now and finally started a swap. I wanted to stay with the 7m because I believe this is a powerful beast. I purchased a jdm engine and ecu. This is my first project other than watching what my dad used to do at his shop. I welcome critisism because it helps ideas. So let me start of with how it started....

Just picked her up!

Now I took off the turbo and now gonna do the manifold... Bought some supposidly good rust remover. Since I will upgrade and stick with the ct26 I shall keep the manifold and just get it ported and polished. And Painting the Cam covers!

When I was just scrolling down looking at the pics, I thought you were doing a NA-T build. What are your power goals, what are you going to be using this car for?

Things are looking good, good luck on the rest of the project.

Are you going to rebuild the JDM before installation?

Here's a tip for next time. Lift the motor high enough to get over the bed of the truck. Then, once lifted, back the truck under it.

****EDIT****Wait What..........The engine lift is in the truck. I would think that lowering the lift by hand would have been much easier than lowering the motor by hand from just below the tail gate.

Yes I already took the engine apart, it's very clean. Was surprise cause of the rusting manifold and turbo exhaust.

The car in the back is my brothers 75' dart.

My goals for the car is 450-500rwhp

Haha yeah we had the engine lift in the truck to pickup the engine but they had a forklift and put it on top of the lift.... it was a bitch to get out but was really funny.

I wouldn't try for 450-500 rwhp with a non-rebuilt JDM engine... I did pretty much the same thing as you with mine. I even took it apart to look at the bearings and it still had a little rodknock. It took a while for it to become noticable but it was there. The HG was also i bad shape, but I put a MHG in it so it didn't blow.

Long story short, I ended up rebuilding it later on anyway and wish I'd just rebuilt it in the first place to save time.

Oh there's no way man. I just want to get her running for awhile. Then i get a settlement for a car accident and she will get new pistons, lightened steel flywheel and clutch new bearings oversized valves and springs. Will also go with mhg after machining. and a 57 trim.
