Ok, first off I'm trying to find out why I can't get the main unit to link up with my laptop. I am using the cable that comes with the support tool hooked directly to the serial port on my laptop. It says it's online in the lower right, but when I try to import data from the main unit it won't get past "Corresponding...Please Wait." It also will not let me d/l the update file. It gets to the same corresponding pop up and then says update failed almost instantly after.

I'm am getting an error light but I can't make out what code it's throwing...here's a short vid of it....

Also one last thing, can anyone confirm the correct 3 rotary dial settings for the 1JZ? Right now, I have mine set @ 2-7-0 as per Hams a LONG time ago, just wanting to make sure. I'm taking the car to get dyno tuned finally next week and I want everything to work correctly when I take it over.

Thanks for any help, and if this should be in the Other Engine Tech section my apologies and feel free to move it.

Is this your first time hooking the laptop to the Blue?
If not then have you changed something recently?
The software version has to match the firmware version for things to work correctly.
If your trying to update your firmware to match your software version then make sure your update file is in the correct Greddy folder in the laptop.
If you are updating and its not working then try going back a version.
I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what you've done & are trying to do based on your post. If none of that helps then maybe a little more information will help us help you.

Yeah first time hooking it up on this laptop. I'm not sure what firmware version I have but the software version is 1.11. I mainly attempted the update to try and see if anything I tried to do would work. It's as if the two just aren't communicating, because no changes I make have any effect on anything. Also when I start the car with the E-man hooked up it's idles really rough and dies within a few seconds.

That doesn't make sense to me because isn't the car supposed to run just as it did w/o the piggyback when running it with no adjustments.

I'm going to try to run the car over to my buddies shop this weekend and see what happens. I'm figuring I'm going to be spending my tuning money just on getting this all to work correctly.

EDIT: The rough idle and dying problem is most likely related to me having the complete WRONG settings for the 3 dials. Will update once I get to test it, but just thought I'd throw that in.

Hmm your setttings are wrong

My settings for the rotary switch is 7 4 0

So you have to change your settings

Thats why your car do not start and idle

BTW to help you we need more info

What about injector and ignition do you connect that to?
