I've been looking at the diagram relating to the coolant system, and I tried to search about looping the ISC coolant lines, but didnt find much help, just a bunch of idle issues... so can i loop the ISC's coolant lines and loop the TB coolant lines and connect the one from under the intake manifold to the little nipple from the water pipe? i drew on the diagram what im talking about... any draw backs? bad idea or a good idea? just looking to makes things a little simpler...

That's fine. In the end, this is what should be happening:

Coolant will flow from the nipple on the lower intake manifold, through a rubber hose that you WILL replace with same diameter coolant hose from a parts store, ;) - into the small steel hardline that comes from the back of the block. You don't have to loop the other lines, but capping them wouldn't be a bad idea.

so its 100% fine? i live in Ca so i dont worry about ice cold freezing temps...

and im replacing almost every hose, most of the hoses were already replaced by the previous owner with OEM replacements, so 75% of the hoses are brand spankin new!

only reason im going to loop them is because of smog, there just going to loop down below the TB, or i'll loop the ISC to the TB and then back to the ISC... but im not going to just leave them uncovered, because i KNOW the smog techs will be like wtf???

thanks for the help too!

Yep, I've been running my car like that for several years. :) New hoses are FTW- I replaced all mine as well when I had the motor out last.

True, and I plan to add one down the line, whenever I get the rustbucket back on the road.

Here's how mine's set up currently- Click to enlarge:

What is the advantage of this modification?

I would think there has to be some drawbacks in very hot or very cold weather.

I can't imagine Toyota ran coolant lines to the ISC unless they thought it was vital to this component.

People will say it gains them a few HP...but i doubt it as I've seen no proof ever.

If the hoses are in good shape, leave em. It's mainly to de-ice the throttle body in horrible conditions.

I pulled them in prep for the FFIM. I have no ISC, and no TB coolant passages. ;) (Accufab 75mm)

for me it was easy to do, my engine is on the stand, so i said why not!

i have my lines looped on the TB, on my 86.5, and i've had ZERO issues after i did it, even during winter. so im hoping the same about the ISC... it should be just to warm the air up. but its done to mine.

and shaeff your paint skills own my pen skills. hahaha
