is this a good way to avoid bhg

i read that i can have my factory head bolts retourqed doenw to the 72lbs, will this help me in preventing bhg or will these help cause it?

I think he might mean will it expand the gasket causing it to warp/crack under re-tightening.

If you're gonna go through all that work to retighten, why not just take it a few extra steps and swap it out if you're that worried about it?

do i have to have the head machined or not and how hard is is to do , all i have done on this car was a starter, but i am ok at working on my previous cars,

If you are good with wrenches, and prepared to replace the gasket anyhow, go ahead and retorque it. There have been mixed results - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and empirical evidence is hard to come by.
