So I texted this local guy who is selling a Ct-26 turbo. I text him and he tells me its a JDM CT-26 turbo Ball Bearing. I have never really heard of a stock CT-26 with ball bearing. So it this true or not? Im almost sure its BS, but who knows.

IIRC there was a company that made a limited amount of ball bearing cartridges for the ct26, not 100% sure though I just remember reading about it awhile back. As for it being a stock jdm part I'd have to call bs on that.

Who cars if its from Japan or not? Borg Warner makes the best turbo's anyways from what I've heard.

wha?

Im not concerned its its from Japan or not. I was asking about it being ball bearing, just a question.

And Borg Warner has nothing to do with this.

Did you even bother to read the thread? Who the hell asked anything about brand name turbo's? Who asked anything about where a turbo is from?

Speaking to hear your own voice is frowned upon here on supramania.

Borg makes ok turbos...but "best is a matter of personal opinion...please keep the stupid to a limit.

First, the only company to my knowledge that ever made a BB CT26 was MDCmotorsports. He only made 5 of them, if I remember correctly. I have one, mhopemk3 had one, and I don't know about the other 3.

It was an experiment that was never quite perfected. If I remember correctly, it was 60mm w/ a 10* exhaust clip. It spooled like absolute hell, and was so fun to drive. Mine ate itself in about 150 miles or so. I sent it back for a rebuild, but haven't run it since.

Man, was it fun, though. I was running 275/40/r17 Falken Azenis rt0615's on the back of my black car, and I would light them up right through third gear, but it was very controllable. With careful throttle input, I could make the car rocket from the line, or have a ridiculous smoke show without really even thinking about it. Foot wide black patches everywhere.

I gotta finish the new car. LOL. Memories!

That turbo will end up on my 7m swapped pickup, whenever I actually do the swap, as I'm doing w/ a t4 setup on the new car.

MDC motorsports made a few with a ball bearing catridge at one point. from what I remember, they were unreliable. the housing and shaft is just not designed for it...

VERY unlikely that this guy you talked to has one.

That would be nice if they did make the 7m with a BB turbo:naughty:

Too bad they didnt cuz if they did it sure would have been on the Turbo A model

Ohh they did make a few...

I know borg warner has nothing to do with it. I was just wondering if it being a JDM ball bearing turbo made it better. Just a question.

What I am asking is if if being a ball bearing turbo from Japan makes it better than ball bearing turbo from the US? If there is no difference than fine. But if it being a JDM turbo made it better than I was just curious why it's a better turbo.

Please don't lecture me. I've been around here long enough to know what is tolerated and what is not.
