Is there an English 1JZ Supra Manual (hardcopy or online) in existence?

I'm interested in doing a 1JZ-GTE swap in my 90 N/A. But considering the fact that i'm new to the Supra and the inner workings of cars in general, I was wondering about getting a 1JZ Manual. Being that the MK3 Supra only comes with a 7MGE and 7MGTE in North America, how would I get a TSRM to tell me the specs of the 1JZ - without having to order a JDM version and having to learn how to read Japanese? I want turbo power, but considering my lack of experience, is the 1JZ-GTE my best bet for the money or should I stick with the 7MGTE?

I remember someone who could read Japanese was going to offer a translated copy if there was enough interest... Not sure if that happend. I would do some searching. Or look in the JZ section on our site.

If you know how to read japanese I have a copy of the .pdf files for the whole manual. If you cant then you pretty much wont understand any of it. If you are new to supras I would do some serious research before touching the 1JZ, Its a great engine for the price I do personally love it and love the feel of the ride. We have a whole section of 1JZ swap tech threads be sure to go over them let the force be with you:biglaugh:

I WOULD LOVE TO GET A 2JZ! But I can't afford it right now. I'm going to do the swap later on. I want to get my suspension and brakes upgraded and make power LAST when the rest of the car can handle it. I will have a back up car by then also. But i'll be sure to search around for a manual or sufficient info before I try it.

I would go w/ a JZ engine any day of the week, much better if you don't want to throw lots of money and down time in (ala 7m) and have it be reliable as well.

you're new to the mechanics and are planning on doing a motor swap? I hope you have a backup car....

dont let that discourage you! you should plan on some downtime yes, but swapping a motor is a great way to learn.

Thx everybody. I may just stick to my guns and do the swap. I found the Translated 1jz Manual online. Excuse me for being new. Just had to look harder. I'll keep ya'll posted and ask for help if/when needed.
