is oil dye green?

the shop put dye in my oil to find the oil leak, got the oil leak fixed. just wondering if the dye would stay in the oil and show up a few days later? thanks

Your shop is smart. Yes, it'll stay in there and show up until you change the oil. After that you should put new dye in. There is no better way to find leaks. Dye in the cooling system is even more useful. I use the stuff that's bright visible green and UV traceable in both and keep it in there at all times.

wow that was the best news i'v ever heard!! makes me wonder if i even had a BHG in the first place, cause they've done the dye in the past, ended up geting a new HG and head cause i thought it was a BHG.

the engine our shop gets from napa seems to be orange
