My 7m has a major rod knock, and im definatly thinking about a 1j. I am looking on ebay, what should i look out for/ ask about, ebay sellers? I will buy one from a company so it will at least seem legit. Will a 1j pass nj emission laws if anybody knows? or even any state laws? i just wanna know if i have a shot at making this my daily driver. Also, can i use the r154 tranny from my 7m? if i get the 1j clutch parts? And finally (for now) do you think its worth it to get the 1jz, premade extended harness ($850), and the bic motor mounts, rather than overhauling my ill-oil-pressured 7m? Any information as quick as possibly would be a BIG help. Thanks.

1: what year is you Supra? you may not need them if you have 89+ Supra with jz style crossmember.
2: You can use the R154. You will need 1JZ Bellhousing and 1JZ Flywheel. Along with a 7MGTE Clutch kit of your choice.
3: Using the stock 7M intercooler would be a pain and a mess of piping. You can get a nice intercooler from XSPower for like $160. You can get a intercooler pipe kit for $100 (shipping included). Look for the kits that come with T-bolt clamps and 3ply silicone hoses, also pipes with rolled edges.

Not all states require a visuial inspection, But none the less. Do some research on the subject. Its a fun read.
mine is an 88, i have a choice to get the mounts or switch the crossmember.
i try to do as much research as i can i looked on the links posted in the thread in this section, and they were really helpful.
This car is going to be my daily driver, i figure i could get like collector inspection for it, but i'd be limited to so many miles per year, and i will be driving back and forth from exton,pa every weekend. I am sure there is some way I could make it emmissions friendly.

absolutely worth the swap. its the best thing that i have done to the car that pissed me off the most.
