Hi guys,

I located a 89 Supra which has been in an accident.
The hood, and front fender panels are damaged. The front chasis is abit bent..Apart from these problems the rest of the car is fine.
It starts up okay...It has KNN filter, low mileage engine, rebuilt turbo, new shocks, etc...

If I am able to buy this car real cheap, I would get the chasis fixed and do the rest of the work myself....

What do u guys think?

Cheers,
Roy

we are talking about a fender, hood, bumper, headlight assembly, and radiator support
( I assume )

if you go get the car straightened out at a shop,
and then all you are doing is replacing panels, that isnt much work at all.
I would have to see pics but,
time on a frame machine isnt cheap, and neither are good condition body panels, + paint

so unless you are getting the car for under a grand, and have a hook up at a shop I might pass,

then again I got my mint 87 turbo targa for 1800$

sounds like a great parts car...but don't buy it thinking of fixing it. Won't be the worth the time or money most likey.

To straighten the chasis will cost me $150 for setup and $70/hour to get it done.

Yeah , I might buy it for a parts car.Plus I could use it to as a mold to make complete carbon fiber body.

I wouldn't buy it. Think like this:
You buy it cheap > Then spend some money getting the bent frame fixed > replace other damaged body parts and paint > How much does it come to?

Take that total, and now go look for a car alreeady in good condition and you will be better off. I am in cali, Bay Area, nd always see nice SUpras for prettty good pricing.

id put a big factor in on how straight the car will drive, for when the frame gets tweaked getting that car to ever drive straight again can be a never ending problem even with having the frame pulled

I bought my car hailed out and hit in the front. I was lucky everything was strait for me it was just a matter of swapping pannels ect. I personally would add up what you need to pay for the car and the cost to fix it. Then figure out what kinda of car you can buy for that!! If you can buy another car thats nicer for that amount of money buy it.

In my case I payed 600 for my car and I might have another 1500 into it. I cant buy a car as nice as mine for $2100.

Or I could buy the car so I could do all my projects in it...
Right now I use my supra and I am ruining it...and its my only daily driver.

i would love to have a parts car or another project.

Besides lotsof people would be very happy if you made a whole CF kit
