is it possible to have a vacuum leak come from the from the timing cover?

i am wondering because i was doing a smoke test on my car through the vacuum lines and it looks like it was coming from the timing cover, but it is hard to tell with the alternator in the way. i want to do it again, but with the alternator off to see if i can get a better look but i was just curious if this leak was possible. the only way i was able to kind of see was with a mirror and a flashlight.

no vacuum in the timing cover. there is oil behind the rear cover tho.

that's what i thought. maybe i'm gonna have to do it again with the alternator off so i can get a better look. the only way i could get a look was with a mirror and a flashlight

The vaccuum supply for the PS pump switch goes across the front of the timing cover under the alternator.
