I'm rebuilding my 7M. HKS metal headgasket, ARP's and stock bottom end, my goal is to put down about 350-415 whp nothing more. I'd like to run a Holset turbo and I'm wondering, will a HKS F-con with Lexus AFM and 550's be able to handle the needs. Reasons for Holset is it's cheap and easily found. From all my research it seems that unlike a 57 trim ct26, a holset will produce power through the entire RPM range and not huff and puff to redline. Also I feel like most components for all this won't break the bank.

That will work fine. Which holset are you looking at?

How it pulls in the rpm range is mostly dependant how big the turbine housing is. Holsets have billet wheels as far as i know which also makes them spool super quick.

The turbo itself is cheap and you can find a lot of t4 parts going around right now for the 7m. Some of the hoplsets are t3 as well so might need a adpater.

Would be good to get a full flow oil cooler system as well but to do it properly its about 350-450 depending on what you use.

350-450 for a full flow system? shit let me know where you're getting your stuff at! I paid close to a grand for everything (block adapter, inline filter, fittings, hoses, cooler) but I also went a little over the top with an oil accumulator.

OP: if you're looking for a remote filter mount, I have a Canton billet piece that I can part ways with if you're interested. It's brand new, only taken out to see if it would fit where I wanted it to. Alas... it did not. PM me if interested

Summit. They got everything. There hoses are good priced if you buy in bulk. Im going with the nylon braid little more than reg ss hose but i like the look better. There fitting are pretty good priced as well but it will be cheaper if you can use as many straight hose ends as possible. Got my big ass oil cooler off amazon(cx racing 9x11x2). Only really expensive parts are the mocal t stat as the earls one with all the fittings to make it -10an it comes out to just about the same as the mocal with -10an already, and the canton block adapter everyone says to just man up and buy the billet piece. Might be a little closer to 450 -550 all said and done now that i think about it.

I've noticed that their prices are better than Summit's in some cases. Also if you take the time to call them, they're more likely to give you a lower price than what you find online.
