The funny thing is they think it has ties to our government. If the government told Frank Miller to make a story like this he would have told them to go to hell and the changed the story so the Persians would win. This is Frank Millers fictional comic book story about Super Hero like Spartans and their struggle against impossible odds. Not a slap in the face of Iran. Iran needs to get over them selfs, they are not so important in the world, that every thing we do is an intended insult toward them.
Interesting they say this, when most of them support the people, which on 9/11 took this very action. Also this film DEPICTS Persians, not Iranians. A majority of people are so ignorant of the middle east that they don't even know of the ties there.

When the general public goes to see the movie they are going to see a Persian Army descending upon 300 Spartans. They DO NOT see an Iranian army going against 300 Spartans, nor should they, that simply was not to point of the story.
Most people are not going to make the connection, and see that Persian army as an Iranian army. So in that context Persians are not Iranians, However Iranians are of Persian decent.
P.S. I do understand where you come from as far as the ancestral ties, however that was not the point of my previous post. I wish to discuss the relation in terms of the general populous going to see the movie

I haven't seen the movie yet. I hasn't come out here in Japan yet. but I've heard it's good. Anyhow regarding Iran, they can just shut the fuck up. They seem to think that they can just commit all these offensive( read: flag burning, "Death to America" rallies, etc) against us, and other Western Powers and then when someone does something that they deem offensive they go off the deep end at us and others sayign "we cant do this and cant say that"?
