Hello Supra Community:
Well I have been lurking around this forums for the past 3 months and I have really been enjoying the passion each person has towards his or her machine. It is great to see a community with members so full of knowledge and taking the time to freely give to others what they have learned along the way.
I just wanted to say hi to each one of you and that I am here to stay.
So I guess as with all first loves their is a story to be told. Mine being that I am 19 years old and have been saving my money for the past 2 years to get a ride of my own. I have always loved automotives and the mechanical aspect of it all. So in April I bought my first car. 1990 Eagle Talon Tsi. It was a fun little car but I soon learned so much about what I really wanted for myself in a car. It hurt me that the car was mistreated and just tons of things wrong. For instance the first time I looked under the dash I just saw a huge chunk of wiring harness connected to nothing. So I spent lots of money and 4 months later to fix the car up and restore it to its previous glory. I think I only put 3000 kms on it in 4 months. It was a very dependable car but it just was not my cup of tea.
So I sold the car and was beginning to look for a new ride for the last couple of remaining months before the winter season. I was in no rush so I was just looking on forums and adds every now and then. So August comes around and I see an add for a 1991 JZA70 Supra for sale. It was exactly what I wanted in a car. Very few mods and absolutely mint. It seemed like too good to be true so I went down and fell in love. Oh that first love feeling. It still never leaves me. So I arranged to pick up the car and feel more than happy.
When I had the Talon I always had the need to fix it because something always bugged me. Now I am too scared to mod or touch this car because it is just a pleasure to drive. I only drove it for 2 months but in those 2 months it made up for all the pain the talon ever gave me. I am not harshing on the talon in any way. DSM's have so much potential but sometimes you just get lemons and it leaves that sour after taste. Well Enough said there.
So heres the pictures and the mod list so far.
HKS TYPE R Intercooler
HKS Intake
HKS Downpipe
Full 3 inch Exhaust and no Cat
17 Inch Regamaster Euros running on Yokohama A048 rubber.
Plans for this year are to up the boost a little on the 1JZ, big brake kit and suspension to go with it. Plans for the car are just to daily drive it during the summer and take it to as many autocross and track events as I can. My plan is not to be really competitive but just have lots of fun. Next summer I am planning to go big single and aim for 550-600RWHP.
Pictures!
Pictures are from the previous owner. Some of the mods were not installed yet but are on the car now. Should have better pictures this spring.
Also on a slight sad note 2 days before I was going to park the car it stalled and now it wont start. It will turn over and sometimes run for a minute but the idles are really low and then it will just quit. Then it wont start again. I think its my caps in my ecu as it seems to be a common problem but it is too cold to check now. Oh well this spring I will surely find out. Let me know what you all think.
Like I said this forums has been awesome!
