Intermittent metal on metal tapping or clicking sound

hello everyone and good day, recently i have been hearing an intermittent clicking metal on metal sound coming from my 1990 turbo engine. the sound is coming from inside the head and it only happens when the engine is hot. whenever it happens the engine acts like it had a small missfire. since i dont have a clue as to what it might be any input will be greatly appreciated, thank you.:icon_conf

Can we get a better description of the sound? High pitch? Low pitch? Happens every 5 seconds, happens every 5 days?

or u can provide a sound clip, could be ne thing really
i hear clicking in my car as well, but they are my valves but no misfire...
whats the milage on the car, stock??
