I'll be driving along and all is well and suddenly my supra momentarily loses power, just dies for a second and I can hear the main fuse (circuit breaker under the passenger kick panel clicking on and off so I think it's electric) I've checked the wires under the hood but I can't find the source of the short (I assume it's a short) It only does this once in a while and then the motor catches and surges and then dies and then catches and surges and dies and so on, then it runs fine for a while. Any ideas, Also my alternator is questionable but I don't see how that could do it but???? It charges the battery but it's kinda weak.

to check the fuel pump, jumper +B and FP in the diagnostic block (dont hold onto the jumper, it'll get a little warm, or hot, haha)

when you place the jumper in, the fuel pump will run. open the gas tank, and listen to it. it should make a "whirring" sound. listen to it carefully, to see if it NOTICABLY pulses. not just pulsing though, see if it kindof skips irratically.

this doesnt sound like a fuel pump/pressure issue. i'm guessing that your alternator is toast, but there's every possibility! good luck. :)

I replaced the alternator and it still goes dead for a second or two, not often, like maybe every other day. It feels electric, my volts stay constant on the gauge and my vacuum doesn't register any change on my vacuum gauge.

If it would just completly take a shit then at least I would be able to find what's wrong, but since it's intermittant...who knows?

Anyone else ever have a similar problem?

W.T.F.???

try removing, and cleaning all your grounds maybe? i had some bad grounds that looked perfect, but were only a few strands of wire actually making contact.
