Hi guys,

My boss gave me this magazine at work to read.
Interesting article.

In U.S.A. about 75,000 engineers graduate each year
In China 750,000 - a million engineers graduate each year
In India 350,000 engineers graduate each year.

Asian countries encourage and help fund students who want to become engineers. Universities give you priority if you want to major in engineering.

In USA families would not encourage their sons or daughters to take an engineering degree. Most people want to study law, medicine and business....There is too much lawyers and doctors and business people here.

And engineering professors from well known universities here visited a few Asian countries esp China and commended well n their engineering degree programs.

What do uo guys think?...Is Asia going to be the next Engineering capital?

Cheers,
Roy

Yep... My Calculus class had a whole huge discussion about how our economy is going down the drain to foriegn countries. lol I dont remember the details of it because im not too interested in it, but at the time it made me want to care. My teacher always tells us that we are the top in the school and we are, which gives us good potential to make change in this world.

Whatever the case, I think theres nothing we can do about it now. "Superpower" status has passed from country to country in the past (England before us and Rome 2000 years ago), and now might be no different. China may be next. The idea of giving power to them makes me sick though. Only time will tell...

ive heard there are more students in law school right now than all the lawyers ever, thats scary. hahha i guess people think there is more money to be made in lawsuits than in actual production of a product .. Its sad.. when i was in high school they shut down the autoshop classes for budget cuts..and i had a better wood shop at home..
