Intercooler upgrade question

Looking for some advice on an intercooler upgrade......

suggestions on the best
24x12x3 or what?
bar & plate or fin?

piping? 3", 2.75" or 2.5"...does it matter?

BOV? why do I need one? HKS or Greddy?

I kinda need a complete rundown on the entire system as to what's best

Currently have 550 injectors with the Lexus AFM and a TD06 turbo.

Any suggestions would be appreciated....Thx!

You do not need a blow off valve, but you do need a bypass valve, and your car comes with one. The BOV vents air to atmosphere, air that the ECU has already metered in. That is why you do not need it.

You need it to protect the compressor when the throttle is closed.

GReddy, HKS, Cartech are all much better than stock. The Cartech uniti is a spearco core. With the age of the car, get the entire kit with pipes, not just the heat exchanger.

There's a lot of stuff you can search for.

Pipe diameter larger is better
you want bar and plate
You need a BOV. The MHI turbo you have is tough, but w/o a BOV you'd poop it.

do not go with 3" ic piping unless you have a 76mm+ turbo. all you're doing is producing more lag.
