ok, i know this question has been asked many times before and YES i did search the site. but, the info i got wasnt sufficient for what i wanted to know. so here it is. who ACTUALLY is running the ebay godspeed intercooler kit? how do you like it? any complaints with the intercooler it's self? did you have to do alot of mods to the bumper if any to make it fit? i was also looking at the FMIC from driftmotion. i dont really want a spearco style. i like the FMIC look. so please.......HELP

godspeed, haste, ect are all the same thing.

You contact the chinese maker, get your name stamped on it, and sell it as your own at a markup.

Just look for the dimensions you want, and then buy the cheapest because they're all the same (at least of the chinese ones).

The vendors on here will actually cover the items if they are defective though, try dealing with ebay on something like that...

the godspeed one is pretty fugly, Heres a pic of the one I got off ebay, normally I wont go with Ebay parts but for the IC and pipes its pretty much all the same. I payed around 165 for this one, welds are decent and the craftsmanship is pretty good.

Here's another thing to think about, lets say you spend 1k+ getting a genuine Trust or Spearco IC and you driving down the highway and a big ol' rock flys up and smashes it....you now have to buy another one. The good thing about buying one at a good price is if something does happen (esp if its a DD) they are easily replaceable.

This is one of two reasons I have a mesh lower grill awaiting installation. The other is hoping that it'll cause a greater venturi effect than the stock one. I should probably compound the two for looks. I havent decided.

*scratches head* What exactly are you hoping from the venturi effect? I've always correlated the amount of potential heat removal based on the mass of air available on contact of the intercooler.

Any restriction in front of the IC will serve to remove some of the potential airflow around the intercooler, slightly reducing efficiency.

However, I've always thought this a solid trade off, as keeping the fins straight, and debris out, will work out better in the longrun.

Less air, yes, but cooler air. If it didnt work, cars wouldntve used them for years. Notice the stock grill is designed for exactly that; even easier to tell on the 89+.

I was told by my teacher, an employee of GM for 20 some years, that at highway speeds, the air afterwards would be 10* cooler.

I want to say that when I took off my stock grill because I thought all it did was restrict air, I couldve sworn it lost a HP or two. This may or may not be true, but I'll stick to science over the butt dyno. Also, I should research more
