hey thanks to all!!! My intercooler has 3' inlet/outlet but thats because I got a great deal on it!!! So I will stick to the 2.5 piping and use a reducer for the inlet/outlet for now!!:naughty:jdub said:Ok...what we're really concerned about here is flow. In piping, the most restrictive section will determine the flow for a given psi.
jmcboost is correct...matching the piping will provide the least restriction for a given psi. That also means the intake/output of the intercooler...if you're gonna use 2.5" piping, the intercooler needs to have 2.5" intake/output. In our cars, it's usually the throttle body (assuming stock) that's most restrictive...it's 2 3/8" (60mm) in diameter on the side where it bolts up to the intake manifold. That's close enough to use 2.5" piping.
