in case you havn't noticed i don't know a whole lot about the cars. all i know is what i've read. well everybody knows reading something and doing something is very different. this is my first project car and what better to start on? right now i'm just doing some basic power upgrades like full 3" exhaust no cats, blitz intake, bov ( don't know which one just yet). now i know that the i/c and pipes are a weak link in the mk3's. i'm looking at getting the cooleeze i/c hardpipes and keep the stock i/c or go with hpfreaks i/c kit since it's bigger and what not. you all seem to know a lot about the mk3's so any kind of advice would be very greatfull. thanks

just a random ques. can a 4 row greddy from a mk4 fit a mk3?

i think you should look into the Lipp ic pipes, really smooth looking. or a cartech or spearco/spearco replica ic. what are your long term plans for the car? what turbo do you want to run? ct, upgraded ct, or something else?

Sorry to Intrude here was just looking for the same recommendation so to speak. I'm only looking for a hp goal in the near 300hp give or take a few. As I drive my supra almost daily. It performs well now. I just need to improve the air flow coming in and exiting. Would like to upgrade the IC not much above stock size. Want IC hard pipes upper and lower. Lipp turbo elbow and 3" DP with 3" catback. Would that get me near or above my goal in someones opinion. I push 9 PSI boost normaly never go above 10 on the bone stock motor. Also was considering 550cc injector upgrade and the 1uZ-fe v8 MAF. After researching here a bit might stick with the stock MAF and get an A/F controller. Any suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also would like to see some numbers of similiar setups aswell.

as far as goals i'm pretty much redoin the whole car. as far as power goals i'm sick of all the magazines always showing mk4's with 800, 900, 1000hp but ya never see any mk3's with power like that. now i'm not goin for that right off the bat. right now i'm just trying to figure out all the little quarks of the 7M. then go buy what i need to represent. right now i'm workin on getting it running again then i'll be doin interior and suspension. then slowly making more and more power. as far as budget, i work two jobs to make sure i can get what i need.

Ok, you don't need all that for a mere 300hp. You can do that with a new intake, a 3 inch exhaust from the turbo all the way out, and a simple manual boost controller.

If you add a new intercooler, some hardpipes, 550cc injectors and the lexus MAF or a MAFT from full throttle, you should be in the high 300s.

Remember to get some decent gauges and pay for some dyno time to ensure you aren't going to blow it up.

Your eventual goals make a big difference here. For instance, 600+ hp cars need a massive intercooler and big intake pipes... so you're either going to buy two sets, one for now and one later, or you're going to buy a big setup and deal with the throttle response problems that generates with stock sized turbos. One route is cheaper, the other is more fun in the meanwhile.

Also, the IC & pipes aren't that big of a deal - I wouldn't be changing them until after you have taken care of the intake, exhaust, fuel, and have some method of boost control.
