Last summer i had the intake maifold off. When i was doing a BHG, nothing seemed out of the ordinary and all was ok with puting everything back together or so i thought.

I screwed the job up and the HG blew again. Not to long after that.

I have driven the car knowing the HG was blown but never very far maybe 1000 feet or so nothing more then that.

I am in the process now ok taking everyhting apart again.

I just got the intake off angain with the throtle body and i notice in the tube section of the intake where it meats the rest of the intake manifold there is a Very Think Very Dark Layer of Black oil all over it. yet there is nothing in the throtle body

this was in no way like that from before. Is it just from me driving the car the little i did and the Crank case venting the oil back through the intake.

Just as a note At one point when my HG blew I notice oil leaking out of my intake filter that lovely colour of milky while ( BUT COMING OUT IF THE AIR FILTER ???? ) it looked like it was coiming from the grank but could this all be leaking from the turbo on the intake side. I have not taken that off yet.

Or is it the EGR spewing this back in to the intake and thats all.

What can i look for to figure this out. I wan to know if its worth continuing from where i am or giving up with this engine and buying a JDM for a swap Since it will come with a turbo as well

The EGR should stay closed until the coolant warms up to 135 F, so if yours is stock it's probably not it, unless it's stuck open or something.

When you had a BHG, the milky oil coming out of the air filter was due to the crankcase breather venting, as you already observe.

I can't think of why you'd only see blow-by oil in the far runners, apart from the PCV oil maybe falling out of suspension when it hits the large volume of the intake manifold and settling there. The air speed if pretty fast in the throttle body so it would just carry the oil with the air. But it's hard to say without seeing it.

Have you done a compression check on the cylinders? That would be a good step in deciding where to go from here.

I have not done a compression check on the cylinders yet. Can you even check that with a BHG. wouldn't the BHG throw the numbers off.

well i have taken so much off the car now i wonder if i can even do a test.

I will put up some pictures so you can see what i am talking about

possiably the pvc system was full of junk and passed it along the way after you fixed the bhg. if the head is still on, you can still do a compression check.

yes, the bhg might throw the numbers off. but thats how you can tell if its blown or not and maybe even know where before you take it apart.

maybe even check the turbo housing and see if its full of junk too.

just my .02

johnathan1 I think it was my fault bad install of MHG

Decked the head but not the block also did not know at the time to make the finish so fine.

boost fiend I am not to sure about checking the turbo housing i have never really taken anything on or off of my turbo out of fear.

I should have it out of the car shortly though.

As you can see from the pictures not everything is apart yet. I will see if i can get my hands on a tool for a compresion test.

can i just clamp the rubber line to the cold start injector so i dont spray fuel everywhere.

As far as the PVC well what should i look for or does it even matter?

well Supra-boy that would make sense but there is no oil in the throtlebody what so ever only in the intake manifold and in the runners

If it is the turbo plus all this trouble i will just get a JDM engine and then work on this one later
