You can use a razor blade, but the easiest way I feel is with a gasket remover, and I believe that is what is shown in the picture. Mine looks a little different as it is all one piece and it does not have removable blades.

I used gasket remover spray and gasket remover scraper.. several hours later, the gasket was gone.. (never want to do that again!!)

Well I would do all the ideas above first, they should work.

I had to use a dremel on the turbo oil return line gasket on the block. I think I used the aluminum oxide type bit with the nice tip to get in the corners well. Just be sure to plug the holes you don't want crap in there if you end up going this route and don't use anything too abrasive.
