Does anyone have any pics of their 3 inch exhaust installed? Im really looking for the cat bracket and differential..

I have clearance at the cat and transmission when Im under the car with it jacked up.. BUT its binding somehow.. Something is not right. Im running the Tanabe exhaust with a BIC downpipe and titan Cat... It sounds great and the car is running like a freakin dream Im just rattling underneath... I have no idea how Im going to deal with my eibach springs...

Tonight I drove the car around and when I hit a bump the whole exhaust banged the car (what it felt like) I already have a durn dent in my muffler and I have only driven the car 3 times for short runs.... (I hate VA roads)

What really sucks is I have to figure out what got on my downpipe when it rained. Its all discolored looking (I got caught in the rain sat) The pipe has a white film on it now....

This car is trying to break me. I swear it is....

What could I be doing wrong with the exhaust install? Do I need to adjust the hangers? I deleted the braket next to the downpipe because it looks like its going to rub the hell out of the downpipe...

I'll have to look at mine. I have that EXACT setup on my car and it bolted up perfect. It fit beautifully and we didn't have to make any adjustments. You want me to take pics of anything?

Well I currently have all the hangers EXCEPT the big metal one that seems to just sit against the downpipe... I dont need it rubbing the paint off the downpipe....

I have the downpipe installed and then the hanger for the cat is bolted to the back of the catalytic flange. The catalytic is bolted with the Catco logo facing the floorboard (up)... Then I have the Tanabe hung from all the stock hangers...(rubber) It is hung up and VERY close to the center bearing and the differential...

I have to figure out whats bound up... Im currently fixated on the catalytic bracket but that seems ok...

What pisses me off is the ceramic coating getting this white film on it from whatever hit it in the rain.... Im thinking something from the engine hit it (just did a turbo rebuild and valve seal thing) its not a huge deal ad once the heat shield is on you cant see it but it was an extra cost...

I really cant wait to lower the car thats gonna bang the heck out of the exhaust.... siiiigh

Please let me know how you did that catalytic bracket and if you had any hanger issues... I think Im doing the cat hanger wrong.

Come to think of it, a buddy of mine mostly did the install of the cat section. I'll ask him if there were any tricks or anything he did during that.

I do remember us having issues with the cat hangar but that was getting the old one off. That was where most of our trouble was.

I had a rattle with that identical setup when I was 7m too...Turnes out the DP was just rattling becuase I didnt anchor it to the transmission. Never did any harm, just had that rattle at a certain RPM. Also prob didnt help that I have a test pipe with no hanger.

BTW, my car lowered with Tein HA's and the Tanbe scrapes on about everything. The issue is that the pre muffler hangs down too low...Its not a huge deal, but expect to beat it up pretty good, and if you have a CAT that may or may not take some damage too.

Well the cat and downpipe is tucked up in the frame pretty good... When you guys say tied to the transmission are you putting a clamp on that bracket that mounts with 2 bolts to the transmission?

I didnt put mine on as it didnt fit the downpipe and looked like all it would do is rub the paint off the downpipe. When I removed it I didnt see any clamps or anything... It was just pressing up against the stock pipe.

I dont really know of any 3 inch exhaust that isnt going to sit low though... There isnt a lot of room under our cars... Trust me I get claustrophobic when Im under mine jacked up on stands sometimes...

What I mean is that the Tanabe hangs down a little lower than most because of the pre muffler, if it wasnt for that thing it would be too bad really...the piping itself has never it anything on my car. Although thats prob because it just hits the muffler first.

Nothing like people staring at you like you just broke something while going over a speed bump.

I know as careful as I was at almost stock height I banged a ding in the muffler already... I dont think the exhaust is going to do well in VA.... Our roads suck as
does 80% of our parking lot entrances...

Well Im stuck... Its like the muffler is twisted. I have the catalytic mounted with the catco logo facing up and the downpipe seems lined up. I am going to see what I can do to get that trans bracket fabbed to the pipe. Its wierd the exhaust seems twisted. I can rock it back and forth but the inner 'O' rubber hanger just before the muffler next to the differential is loose. The o rings at the muffler are ok. the rubber hanger at the cat is angled to the back of the car. Im thinking I have to move it to the downpipe side of the flanges.

God she is peppy with this setup... All I need is a better boost guage and a EBC and Im gonna be in supra heaven... Hell I havent even turned on the radio (although that would drown out the rattle)
