Supras,

searched, but couldn't find any definitive answers. I'd like to install the Innovate RPM Convertor. Do you tap into the rpm wire at the ecu, and connect the other end into the screw terminal on the Convertor?

The Convertor also allows 4 (5?) other inputs in addition to RPM. Can you please advise what other signals you tapped into, and if you tapped them all from the ecu? Thanks very much!

Bumping this thead to see if anybody has any insight on the question.

I have a similar question, I have the converter wired directly into the rpm singal from the ecu, however, Im not having any luck getting an accurate reading. Im also tapped into the tps signal, that is working fine. Does anyone have this LM-2 hooked up and reading rpm's properly?

Hello,

I tapped both TPS and RPM signals from my S-AFC, but that is spliced into the VPC harness, so it was very easy for me. (Thanks X-MAN!). If u don't have the VPC harness, then u have to find the correct RPM signal on the ecu. There are a few, and it can be confusing.

IIRC, the correct signal is the IGt signal. Locate this signal by calling up the online TSRM. (Or u can search for rpm signal here). I'm pretty sure its the IGt though, but double ck. me on this.

The Innovate is a nice piece of equipment, and its Logworks software is awesome. I'm trying to find some users here, but no luck so far. Good luck!

PS, I'm also going to tap into the stock MAP sensor (it is 5V), and there's also an analog IAT signal in the ECU, (which if not >5V can be connected to the RPM converter). Also trying to determine if I can splice into my electric fp and egt gauges....

Hi, I have the rpm converter tapped into the same wire that my safc is tapped into as well. The safc reads rpm's perfectly, the rpm converter however, does not.

Ive tried checking and double checking the grounds, which are all good. Ive tried doing the calibration method innovate suggests, holding the rpm's at 2000. I have had very little luck with that, The red light on the rpm converter stays a solid red, but the rpm's are registering incorrectly, and they fluctuate wildly. Im not sure what to try next. Perhaps tapping into an alternate rpm signal would fix it? who knows. Thanks.

I switched the connection to the IGT signal like you suggested and that did indeed fix the problem, Thanks a lot for your help.

Glad I could help! Now get some logs, and PM me, or post them here, so we can compare mods & logs! The Innovate forum is awesome, but its nothing like here, where we can compare our similar cars' runs. Enjoy, and be careful if u're street tuning! ;)

Hey Qwik! Surprised u remember me. I was down in Florida, becoming a godfather, (don't ask why-I still don't know)....

Get some logs up man. I wanna compare notes. At nights, I'm on the street tuning away, but u gotta be oh so careful! So hopefully I'll get to dyno very soon. I remember I saw you at the dyno place beg. with a "P" somewhere here on the Island. Where is that place? I may take a trip down there this Sat. if I can get her tuned right before that. Was that 3 pulls for $50 a special, (I saw your posting on that) or is that their normal everyday fee?

Get those logs up asap. Will be very interesting to see what's going on with other cars/users. Plus I'm sure we've all got our preferences for how to use LogWorks. Its really cool, with lots of info. to use.
