Hey guys, since this car will be my DD I don't want to go too crazy with performance mods but more to have a well rounded performance package. Now I have a setup planned out in my head but I am not totally sure on some of the parts I'm thinking about. Heres what I had planned. The "or"s are what I need help on.

RSR Race springs (they are linear correct?)
Koni or Bilstein shocks (?)
ST swaybar set
Cusco rear strut tower bar
CP (from SupraSport) 3 point front strut bar (unless Cusco is still better LMK)
http://suprasport.com/product.asp?itemid=147&catid=67

Thanks!

i guess it depends on your idea of close. koni yellows and rsr springs are ~600 and cheapest coilover kit (tein ss) are ~950.

buddy had one of those 3pt strut bars. while i guess it helped some, i think it got in the way more than anything. i have yet to be convinced our cars really need a front stb of any kind. sway bars on the other hand i'll agree major improvements can be made. besides the st you may consider the whiteline bars.
here is a good chart jeff put together for sway bars.

get the teins and the efc, it work jsut like the TEMS.
u will prob. be happier than the strut and spring combo because if u want to set the height and everything, then u need to do it manually.

Yea, I was thinking about just going with TEIN RAs. My only problem would be where can I take it to get it all setup correctly? I'd need a knowledgable place with scales and stuff right?

I've found the measurement that Tein recommends is pretty close. Of course the corner scales would be better, but for your average joe, the specs Tein recommends works pretty well.

Hmm, I didn't actually know for a long time that there was anything aside from the flex an ra's for our cars. Are the Super Street a worthy solution? Or are they really really dulled down?

The type RAs would be my 1st pick but they are very expensive at nearly 1600 bucks from MVP.

I'd go with Koni Yellow struts and the Eibach pro kit for springs. (Lowers 1.5" in front and 1" in back.) I don't own this set up yet... but it is on my to do list.

this is what i have. front koni's set on full firm, rears on full soft. i wish i'd gotten linear rate springs though... hell, i wish i had just gotten coilovers in the first place, but i REALLY needed shocks, and money was mad tight, so i went with this setup. it handles pretty well, i suppose, but could be WAY better. it handles amazing compared to my stock (86.5) springs and 3 blown shocks.

i thougth the ra's were mostly racing and you want a daily driver.i want the super street damper with the edfc.the flex would be nicer but a good $500 more.just being able to set your ride height could be benaficial when it comes to rims and tires, just having the right stance makes the supra look mean. http://www.tein.com
keith
p.s. most companys have to import ra's from japan

Yes, I did say that, but I typed that initial post in about 1 minute including finding the link. lol

Though this is my daily driver; I'm kind of different in that I really like having a very stiff ride. Makes me feel more like I'm driving a sports car. It should be a reasonable ride height though; I have seen some suspension setups on here that are far far too low for any roads around me.

Interesting that the SS are more competition then the much more expensive flex coilovers. I think that bringing back up that chart for me could have made my decision.

Hmm... perhaps it is time to re-research the whole suspension system. My original decision was based primarily on cost, but if Tein's really are that much better then I may just wait longer and save up more money.

yes, just save and get a badass setup right off the bat. it's worth it, trust me.

The Tein SS do not come with pillowball mounts, and the height adjustment and spring preload cannot be adjusted separately. The SS are made to be a cheap good basic coilover, while the Flex are meant to be for a daily driver/mild track use.

If you like cornering, you will love coilovers. There is no comparison between coilovers and regular strut/spring combos.
