Injector Stuck

One of my recently rebuilt injectors from RC Engineering is stuck shut. There was actually two but one fixed itself after about 10 minutes of idling. Before I pull the rail and send the injector back to RCE, I thought I might try running 2A at 6V DC through it to see if I could simulate WOT and break it free. Has anyone run into this problem before? The injectors sat for about 2 months after the rebuild before I fired the engine.

By the way, it ohms out okay at 3.4ohms, and swapping injector connectors with the adjacent injector did not change anything, so the wiring is okay.

Do not hold the injector "on". Max on time is still only milliseconds. A quick on and off. I have seen electrical solenoids stuck from contamination, but I don't see it with a new unit.

How did u determine an injector was stuck? I know the TSRM says to use a scope, or even touch each injector with fingers, but I was wondering if there's another way. I've installed new ones, and am thinking once shes' ready to start, how to determine if they work individually. Thanks!

It was missing, narrowed it down to cylinder #1 by pulling plug wires and listening to the engine. Plugs are brand new and lots of sparks flying, so ignition is okay.

Then used a stethoscope to listen to each injector. #1 was silent. Pulled the injector connector and checked injector resistance with ohmeter. 3.3 ohm measured so that's okay. Checked wiring by swapping injector connectors with #2. Cylinder #2 continued to work with #1 connector, so connector okay. Only thing left is the injector itself!

RC Engineering injector gets stuck and this thread gets swept under a rug. Some people come here and ask about Venom injectors and guys come out the woodwork to call them junk. Hmm.

I don't think it's "swept under the rug" at all it's still posted out in the open there's just not a lot to discuss he'll send em back RC will repair/replace and it'll be fine.

You have to admit it's a fairly rare and isolated incident.

Yeah, I'm surprised. Trying to think if it was anything I did, but you know, they sat in the box for two months, then I plunked them in, ran the fuel pump for a couple of minutes to check for leaks, then let them sit another month. Fired it up and was missing on two cylinders, then one un-stuck by itself. The other wouldn't budge, even after I pulled it out on the bench and did CPR (with 6V power supply :biglaugh: ).
