increase in power on 89+

i knoe the 89+ models had a slight increase in power. just want to know what did toyota change on the car to give it a slight increase.. i heared it had something to do with the exhaust..true?

The difference was the wastegate actuator. It was altered to spool a bit quicker giving that bump in torque. It went from 245 to 254. With no other mapping changes, the total hp didnt change. Just the area under the curve.

close... it was 230hp and then went to 232hp and i believe the tq was a little smaller of a change from 250 to 254 but you may be right on those numbers....

i actualy dont believe it was the wastegate. i'll wait for jeff lange to answer correctly here, but im pretty sure it had to do with electronics.

it is the aculator, take a look at them, they even look a little different. 230 246 to 232 254 i think.

Actuator was supposedly changed slightly, the wastegate source nipple was moved as well, not to mention all the electronic differences.

Things that did not cause the change, but people like to say they did, even though they didn't: Crank, Head, Manifolds, Cams, Valves.

You miss read what I miss wrote. Of course the two hp is there, that was the point of the thread. It has nothing to do with mapping.
