ok i did a search and the topic is a little cloudy.

the car is a 1987 JDM mk3 turbo. engine is a JDM 2jz with getragv160 tranny
im gathering parts for when my car goes down for the winter

here is a list of what i have so far

koyo alum rad for jza70 and e-fan
aem ems for the 2j
bic mount adapters
i need new rear end gears... where do i go?
aeromotive inline fuel pump, fpr, fuel filter ( im running fuel cell)
trust fmic rated to 600 hp

fabrication that i know of..
shifter mod (v160 sits it in a different location)
trans crossmember
driveshaft
hard pipes
downpipe/testpipe

add to the list please because i know there are somethings that i must be forgeting

thanks

check out my thread, although im using an r154. you wont need many of the things listed because your car might be manual already and you have the mkivs oil pan.

rear end gears ? = differential? plenty of people out there that can make different differentials. cusco. kaaz. can use a torsen from the 1jz even. (im actually not sure what diff you would want to use with the v160 as there is plenty of debate and no real answer on the topic)

alot of people might be tired of answering these threads as there isnt a grip of people who are actually swapping in the 2jzgte especially the v160 since the fab costs are high unless you know someone or are doing it yourself.

if your power goals are high there is plenty of stuff you can buy.

are you also planning on doing the wiring yourself? or just a pnp to the AEM? take it somewhere? the wiring is a big item on my list heh.

the end result of your swap will be a sky high price because of the transmission alone. but if that isnt an issue go with it :)

Keep track of every thing you buy and that way you have it for the next person. One of the mods may even make a sticky with it so all you'll have to do is post a link to your list and it will help the future 2jz installers out. Good luck with the install.

i can't wait to see this V160 go into an mk3... i was thinkin about doin it next year. your thread will help.

its a lot of work thats for sure :) or at least a lot of money... i'd personally go with a powerglide instead of the v160 hehe

you WILL need a custom driveshaft for the v160, and the stock rear gears for the v160 are ~3.20. i have seen a v160 in a supra, but couldnt find the owner to ask him about the swap.

i will make a proper build thread sooner or later. just trying to gather all of the little pieces so that once the car goes down im not waiting on parts and paying for pointless shop time.

i will tell you though that this is a full out track car.

there is nothing behind the dash skin. no heatercore, no ac. no anything.
so this will be far from a daily driver swap. not even using any of the stock gauges.

i'll get some pics up one of these days, keep an eye out.

that should make everything a little easier in my opinion way to go :)
