So my car is making a wired rattle only at 5500rpms though. kind of makes this same crunch/crackle on start up. Almost like electrical current crackling against metal. I dont think its a rod problem but only because its at such i high rpm.

Oil pressure is also normal.

I think it might be coming from my alternator. ALSO in the past month about 5 times i've been driving at lower speeds and press the brake and my head lights will dim and the car will die but it starts right back up and still runs fine.

Also another side problem is my upper radiator hose doesn't seem to have the pressure it should, but the car is running normal temp and my overflow seems to be at normal level maybe alittle lower. Just replaced thermostat and clutch fan. (not sure that matters.)

Sorry for the lack of know how to explain that situation in a bit more readable way.

Thanks in advance Jordan

I would take a stethoscope or large screwdriver and listen to the engine at different locations, top and bottom. Just having a location to work with would narrow the possibilities down by a lot. Any chance of a video?

Lights dimming when you hit the brakes is pretty common in cars this old. Corrosion causes resistance at every connector in the system and uses up the voltage. Seems like someone just posted a write-up on how to clean electrical connectors....

That shouldn't cause the car to stall when you hit the brakes though. You may have a short somewhere or a vacuum leak at the brake booster.
