ignition tumbler replacement

Hi everyone.

My supra was broken into last year, and the ignition tumbler was destroyed. I wanted to know if it were possible to get another ignition tumbler, and have a locksmith make it work with my original key.

If this is possible, anyone know any good places to send it out to get done?

Secondly, I have an 89 supra, does it matter what year tumbler I get? Or are they all the same.

I know for sure an 86.5 fits/works in an 89.

Yes a good locksmith will be able to reky anything you take him but it might be worthwhile looking at some of the aftermarket barrels that have the weird ass keys and rekey the whole car.

Looks sort of close to the one on the desk in front of me but there's a step in the case that the Supra one doesn't have and you can't see the other side and that's important as there are locating ridges there.

if you can, go for a 91/92 supra lock, those are much much harder to break into than 86.5 - 90 locks..
