i have recently installed jdm 7mgte to replace an old one. when replacing cam position sensor i notice that the rotor was close to upper pick up coil at tdc. i used my old cam position sensor and got it aligned roughly the same since there are no marks. after starup timing was about 30 deg advanced. at this sensor position i could only get 17 deg advance. after shifting the sensor by one gear tooth timing was at only 0 degrees. after turning the rotor by 180 degrees i was able to adjust it to 10 degrees at idle but the engine ran like crap. i noticed a lot of hasitation and very poor performance. i checked compresion on cool engine and it came out at 155 psi on all cylinders. when performing compression test i got 90 psi at first crank. the only thing that was reused from jdm motor was fuel rail, turbo, and injectors. old motor was realy strong before it died.
