Hi Guys,
I bought this MKIII with the 1jz, and was running pretty crappy. Previous owner did all the wiring and stuff right, but put in 550's and wired up the injectors by twisting the wires only.Wiring was correct though.

I took em out today and soldereed all the connections and shrink wrapped them.

Started the car up and you could hear the popping going on, and was advised by previous owner it was the injectors.

Since I am new to !jz.,I kinda believed it, but today curiosity got the best of me.
I opened up the cover for the spark plug and lo and behold, i find the coil over plug # 1, was actually unplugged.. lol. :aigo: :aigo:
Owner has been trying to figure this problem for a while , lol :biglaugh:

Running on five cylinders would have hurt anything???

Well..car is running but still not smooth due to 55O's and lack of fuel management.

Will be getting the E-manage , made up my mind now, but I have 1 question for those running the emanage.

Is the emanage Blue unit enough, or should I get the Ultimate....???

Thanks for your input andsuggestions.
Moe.

i think hams on sf had a blue for sale and would provide a base map for your set up.your car must be running rich.i have stock injectors and still had to pull some fuel out with a safc.

I believe the ultimate allows you to get rid of the AFM. That would be a big bonus...I would personally save up the extra bit of cash and go with the ultimate.

The biggest thing that sold me on the Ultimate was the Rev Limter options.

This thing has alot of cool shit in it. Mine is all wired up and ready to go. Just havent had time to finish the rest of the car up.

I actually picked up a Blue a few dyas ago , brand new with both harnesses for 235 $. I could not pass it up.

I am new to it so Don't wanna jump into the ultimate yet.

I think for my purpose, the Blue will do for now....I still have to figure out how to get the car running..doing a major harness rewire...

Kool man, I received my Blue a few day s ago..Its a lot smaller unit than I initially thought it was ( I was thinking more the size of amps, ,,lol)

I do have one harness...do I need anything else with it?? or is the main harness enough for everything???

Any ideas on hookup on a 1jz??

Thanks,
Moe.

well the only thing running on 5 cylinders would do to the car

if it HAD a cat.. it probably doesn't anymore as the EGT would rise to extremly high levels in the exhaust.
