Guys i may be in the market for a new set of ht leads. I replaced mine with a standard set about a year ago but they seem to be chaffing on the underside of the bonnet (hood) and 2 have almost worn through. I guess they need to be slightly shorter

has anyone got any recomendations? and any links to sites that sell them would be cool aswell

Hey, I know what a bonnet is, but what do you mean by ht leads? The ignition or spark plug wires?

I made my own wires for two reasons: Buying the wire in bulk I payed the same amount that I would have for one set, but I have enough clips and wire left over for a second set. I could cut the to make sure they were a *perfect* fit.

If it is the ignition wires you're referring to replacing the cover which goes OVER the distributor might help keep them down away from the bonnet. I''ll post a pic so you can see what I'm talking about... in case you've never seen one.

I have a kinda biased opinion, but I like MSD wires(I put them on every vehicle I own). They're also cut to fit, and will last damn near forever. They come with long precut wires, that you cut to fit how you like, all the boots and clips, and even includes the crimping tool. I'm not on my comp., or I'd post a link, but Summit, Jegs, and many, many others stock them.

High Tension is another term used to describe high voltage. He's referring to his plug wires.

Thanks, I had a vague recollection of that somewhere in the back of my head... just wanted to be sure.

I'd try the cover and I'd try moving some of the slack into the plug galley so the wires aren't bowing up above everything else.
