So while pulling the head off my 88 7mgte I broke the pigtail on the igniter. After calling Toyota I was informed that it can only be replaced as a whole. Is there a part number out there for just a pickup or am I really screwed here?

Alright, because I get the feeling a lot of people are looking at this and going " oh my god what a f-ING noob"
What I am refering to is the pick-up in the camshaft position sensor of a 88 turbo. I am hoping that the less than helpfull guy at the parts counter just didn't feel like really looking into the parts. I know this thing can come apart thus there must be a replacement pickup. Instead of hoping I somehow manage to find the only helpful parts guy this side of the Dixon line I turn to this fine establishment in hopes that maybe someone else has wanted to just change the pickup instead of throwing 500$ bucks at a new part because of a stupid wrench....
So just asking....Toyota part number for a csps pickup...anyone.

You broke the connector? Why not just get a new connector.

Phoenixtuning.com. His name is drtweak on here. Give him a call or pm.

Also can post in the wtb section.

I asked the Toyota guy about that and he said that I can only get it if I buy the whole sensor. Which I know is a load of crap. If I could get a number for that that would be cool. But the pickups are origanal and I figured it wouldn't hurt to change them. But if my options are limited then I will just get the connector.

Your Toyota guy is correct, as far as he knows, anyway. Toyota will not sell you just the connector. They will not sell you any parts for the CPS 'innards', either. They haven't had them for years.

Dr. Tweak, mentioned by hvyman, above, is not a Toyota dealer. He sources all kinds of connectors that Toyota has long since given up on.
