"Your computer is infected! Clean it up now using IEDefender!"

WTF is this shit?

Try going to the task manager and find the rouge process and do a search for the executable on your machine. If not, you can always do a system restore to a point before this started happening and see if that works. Choosing the system restore point will not impact your personal data either so no worries there.

Why bother? Spyware Doctor is all I use. It's caught shit that Spysweeper, AdAware, etc. couldn't get rid of. The only thing that I caught that SD couldn't get rid of was the cpvfeed spyware...had to ditch that shit the old-skool way.

Not quite that old-skool...LOL! Had to boot into safe mode and edit the registry...then boot back into normal mode and run SD...it picked up an additional 400+ items that it was completely missing (said nothing was on my computer) and deleted 'em.
