Have u guys ever had one die on you? If you have, did yours just up and die, or was it a slow death?

I'm just curious b/c the used one that i got was working jsut fine for about an hour. Then out of NO WHERE after the car was turned off then back on, it would not idle for the life of it. And now, the IAC is completely shut. It seems really bizzar to me that it would happen all of the sudden.

Idle Air Control Valve. It mounts on the exhaust side of your intake manifold near the rear firewall. Has a little round black box with a six pin rectuanglar pin connector and two coolant lines going to it.

If you can't firgure out what i'm talking about from there, i'm not really sure how you got youf 1JZ swap completed :D lol

i know, but the wiring is SO simple and it's VERy rare for these things to just up and go bad. Right now i've got on stock about 10% open and the other Completely shut. I'm going to test around this weekend to see if i can get it to open or shut.

that is called ISC(Iddle speed control) valve. i have not seen one go bad.

That is another name for it. The 1JZ labels it as the ISC. The 2JZ is labeled as IAC. Both do the exact same function. However, the 1JZ and 2JZ mounts are different, along with the openings.

I've actually decided to run without one. B/C the car is at the dyno shop awaiting to be finally tuned, i had to resort to knot using one. I'm sur ethat with the AEM EMS, i'll be able to get around it.

But we'll just have to wait and see. I MIGHT have the car back this afternoon, Maybe.

Thanks for the replies guys. I REALLY appreciate it.
