Blah! Screw it. I went 1JZ.

I bought it today. I bought the engine, with 1JZ manual transmission, just imported from japan. It has all the wiring and ECU. I also got a TANABE exhaust (very used, but in working condition I guess), an HKS air intake (a pipe about 12" long and the filter element), I even got a bar (the front one that goes from the top of a strut to the other).. It seems to have everything, stock intercooler, the igniter, everything.

It was a liiiittle bit less than US$2,000. Payment to mechanics isn't as high as in the US, so it will be much less than 1k to install, and this mechanic has installed a few 1JZ's, even the "hard" way (welding stuff)... but I don't like the idea of welding anything, so I bought those BIC Performance mounts, so it bolts on nicely into my '88 car. I guess I need an LSD now too, damn.

I will later take pics of everything, engine and stuff during the installation process, which I will begin once the BIC mounts get to me.

I want a daily driver, so don't expect many HP.... but even the stock numbers look good to me! And with 3" exhaust and good intake, even better. Now I have to learn about basic 1JZ BPU's.... maybe a downpipe or something?

Oh well, just letting ya'll know.

Clip? Nope, that's not the dominican way =P

In here, shop owners fly to Japan, they dismantle the cars over there, and bring all the parts. Not really a clip. But this engine was complete, tranny, turbos, complete wiring, igniter, ECU, HKS intake, even a Tanabe exhaust he bring from that car and gave to me. I ordered the BIC Performance 1JZ mounts and I'm waiting for those to arrive so I can start the swap.
