So as some of you know I got into a narly bike wreck, and I had to quit school and just about everything else...

Walking is a bitch so I bassically just sit on a couch all day. My girlfriend is 5 hours away, the supras 45 min away... My turbo is... Shit who knows where that is.

Just getting stressed about centrailia, and the fact I cant really leave my house... luckly all my cars are stick shift and well the right side of my body is out of commission!

Maybe this is a calling to import a car from japan with RHD... I think so!

Well after 13 hours spent on SM i'm feeling a bit crazy...

Any suggestions to stay occupied? :1zhelp:

Do what I did when I was recovering from a bike wreck.

LEARN SOMETHING - Learn how to program, make a webpage, teach yourself networking, get some books...

You've got the perfect opportunity to better yourself. If you're that bored it means you have almost zero distractions.

Don't waste it, use it.

I shattered my right tib fib on a dirt bike, sold the bike while I had my cast on and went out and bought a bigger bike once I got it off. Although this isn't like riding a street bike a crashing (higher speeds, more risks of injury, etc etc) but I would say a 'real rider' would ride again.

As long as you aren't the guy who bought the zx14 and was looking for a race the next day... I would say go for it. Nothing says that you'll wreck again... but nothing says you would get a third shot either.

Some people would take something like this and see it as a sign to 'gtf off the bike' or 'I did something stupid, what should I have learned?'

I don't think anyone would 'make fun' for quiting, esp those of us who havent been in an accident.

Oh, you were wearing leathers, weren't you?

Sorry work is boring. I passed all my time replaying FFVII and then playing FFVIII when it was released. I also put models together.

I've got a titanium shinbone, a plastic kneecap, my right hip is hollow, I have 17 false teeth, permanent nerve damage in my face (can't feel 1/2 my bottom lip), I've got more scars than I care to list and I've had 5,000 microstitches above the collar bone. Not to mention that every bone and joint in my body has been either chipped or cracked in some way. I sound like a bowl of rice crispies when I get out of bed in the morning and winter is not a pleasant time for me. I spent 3 months in intensive care getting put back together. 9 months total in the hospital. I had to learn to walk all over again, and when I look in the mirror, the face looking back at me is not the same one I had before the wreck.

(And no, I didn't get rich off it. The girl who hit me was dirt poor and I got $6667.00 and all my medical bills paid.. I earned my money... )

This all from being hit by a drunk driver. Not my fault, nothing I could have done to avoid it except "not be there".

And yes, I did ride a bit afterwards.

At this point in my life, I have to much to live for, I don't ride at all. Personally, I think if you live in, or near a major city, and you are riding a bike, you're tempting fate. (Out in the country is a different story...)

I wouldn't own a bike right now. It's just too dangerous, not because of the bike, but because the asshole car drivers. People these days seem to be doing anything but driving. They are all either reading, eating, talking on the phone (or even worse text messaging), watching a movie or trying to raise kids in the car. The last thing that most of them are paying attention to is the road.

At least in one of my Supra's there is something between me and them.

Agreed. But please explain the last part... if it's anything besides probably more dangerous, I disagree.

Traffic density. On the open road you generally have enough room to move around and ride defensively. In town, you're going to get nailed, there's no where to go.

Shrug - to each their own. I simply don't ride anymore.

^ true, but cars on side roads aren't looking for a tiny little bike on a big open road, wildlife of all kinds, and poor road conditions...

Like I said, I haven't been there so I'm not judging anyone. I was just curious how you looked at it.

I kinda know how you feel rs4. I just had an anterior cervical fusion in my neck last Tuesday. They fused three vertebrae in my neck. Along with having a vagina on my neck, now I've got inflammed nerves in my spine and can't seem to do shit without drugs. Just got back from having a CT and the doc thinks he might have to go back in clean out some more nerve roots. Ugh! Lortabs have been my friend here lately.

Take care of yourself and hope you get to feeling better.
