Well, I was sitting there messing around with the car trying to get the aem setup.

Car was idling, and I was into the comp screen. I should have been watching the parameters, but I wasn't... Electric fan power relay died, and the fans didn't run...

that equals about a 270 degree coolant temp :( Well, no I've got steam out the exhaust and tapping noises.... I don't really have the heart to do ANOTHER rebuild so soon.... so I guess I'm quitting...

It's a sad day, and I've had really bad luck with this car lately... I guess I can part it out and see how much of the 23000+ I've got invested I can get back :(

it's up to you, but it might not be too expensive to rebuild if it's simple a HG and bearings...

that's a small price compared to the thousands you've already spent and in the end you win...

you won't get the money back out of it though, so I would hang in there and enjoy it once it's running.

well, if you part it out, someone is going to want to know the condition of the engine, might as well tear it down and see the damage and if it's fixable...

Wow, im really sorry about that. My water pump when out and my fan broke my radiator, car over heated. 650$ and a week later bhg. So i have a craked head. sold my Lt1. i was going to swap that engine in to my fc. sold it to fix my supra.
I know how it feels, but you have spend more cash than i have . Im really sorry about you car, good luck

Gixer, that really friggin sucks man, Im really sorry to hear that. If you know anything about my troubles recently you know I know what you feel like. Ive made up my mind that if I lose my current motor Im going 2J, maybe that would be something to give you a new found desire to stay in it. As much as you put into that motor doing a 2J should be considered cheap. If you decide not to I cant say that I would really blame you.

Damn, that seriously blows.

Yank the head, and take a look in there. You may find that you just slightly warped the head, and that a re-surface will make it all good again.

and it was said before, but electric fans ftl.

Just like weezl said, I completely understand if you don't want to dump more money into it, but think of all the good times you've had with the car (the police chase for one). Try and just step away from the car for a while and then come back to it later, see if the desire is still there to do it ;).

Once a supra owner, always a supra owner ;).

i would really hate to see you quit, but if you feel its best, then do what you must. before you get all pissed off and just start selling shit, i would take a look at what damage was done.
