My 89 7mgte supra just stopped running today all of a sudden and wouldn't start after. I checked for spark in the plug closest to the fire wall and no spark. so I then checked the next easiest one at the front nearest the radiator and again no spark. So I then checked the 2nd one in from the radiator and there was great spark!? I followed the wires that didn't work at all and what do u know?, they both come from the same coil 1/6. So now that I think I found the problem I just wanted to come on here and confirm with some experienced mk3 supra owners who have been through the no start up probs.

The car was cranking just no igniting. I was also thinking could the car start still if it was missing one coil pack? Would it be able to run but roughly?

I had a e-test done earlier in the day is there anything they disconnect that i might want to look at?
I'm stumped, what else could it be or could I trouble shoot check??
I will wiggle the cam scensor wiring 2moro to see if that maybe has a loose wire.

I also don't hear my fuel pump come on with the keys turned on? Is this normal for these supras?
I've only owned mine for 3weeks now and didn't really pay attention to the fuel pump sounds yet. It did however come on when I got in the diagnosis box in the engine bay and bypass it how I read to somewhere. :wtf:

Test the entire coil pack per the TSRM.

He is a new member, new to the supra world, and this is his first post so I am guessing he dosent know what TSRM is.
Any why check this out

Also http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/ it is a life saver. (TRSM on the top left ;))

Also IJ I am surprised you didn't move this thread since it is posted in the wrong section :slap:, unless it needs to go into the VIP room.

to answer one question, the fuel pump does not come on until the car is actually cranking, it does not prime itself with the key in the one position.

if your pump came on when you connected the signals in the diag. box then its working. as grimreaper said, the pump wont come on till the car is cranking.

I posted in a hurry, and had full intentions of coming back and posting the cygnus link. Between hurricanes and going to school at night, I haven't been back. Sorry!
