I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line. But,
you
didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the
sidewalk.
But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the
hurricane relief.

I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But, you
didn't see me, driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt
out
the car window.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to
the
homeless.

I saw you, stare at my long hair. But, you didn't see me, and my
friends cut
ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves
to
those that had none.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me, cry as my children where born and have their
name
written over and in my heart.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into
my
lane.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe
behind me.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you
didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next
turn.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the
car
to go on his date.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But,
you didn't see me, leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you, go home to your family. But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family.
But, you didn't see me.

Stole it from another site, thought it would serve as a reminder to everyone that the bikers are out. :icon_bigg

I rode a '66 FL Custom and a '72 Sportster back in the 80's, my hair used to reach my waist back then.

I've dealt with just about all the the bullshit you see written above, just about all of it.

Except my wreck left me dead on the road for 3.5 minutes before they gave me a jumpstart. I've got 17 false teeth, a plastic kneecap in my left knee, a stainless steel shinbone in my right leg, a hollow right hip and I've had over 5,000 microstiches above the collar bone. My entire face below the nose was rebuilt, and it looks nothing like it did before. You have no idea how freaky it is to look in a mirror and see a different face than the one you had your whole life... I spent 3 months in intensive care, 9 months in the hospital and had to learn to walk all over again.

Theresa can tell you, the scars I have make me look like roadmap.

Note to riders: 1972 Harley Sportster vs 1972 Pontiac Bonneville driven by drunken bitch on wrong side of road is not a good matchup. In the collision, both bike and rider lose badly every time... :(

That's when I switched to Supras - I can still go fast and I'm a bit safer wrapped in 3000+ lbs of metal.

It's 20 years later, my hair is short now (and a little bit grey on the side), and people have started calling me sir. (I still look over my shoulder for my father when I hear that.. :) )

And I spend a lot of time laughing inwardly as my business shirts cover my tatoos just fine. I find it hilarious how much people will kiss your ass when they realize you make six figures plus in corporate America. They all think I'm just like them, but I'm still a biker at heart. :)

Fuck Locks of Love.

You should probably post the "why's" behind that statement so everyone doesn't think you are a psycho bitch my dear. Not everyone is aware that even though it appears to be a charity, it's actually a pack of scumbuckets...

Glad you can talk about the wreck SC instead of us reading it in a eulogy.

Good post Matt. I know you got that new bike so be careful. A friend of mine lost his leg last year to a woman that pulled out in front of him. He was about a hundred feet from her and she just pulled right out. He laid the bike over and went under her car. Lost his leg from his knee down. He builds houses like I do, but now he's not able to. Always watch out for the idiots that aren't watching out for you.

#1 accident is usually a car turning left and not yeilding to the motorcycle going straight...

watch out for them, I don't own one, but I've had biker friends so I know the issues they deal with...

And it's usually women that run these poor bastards down, too.

Usually too goddamn busy dicking with their cellphones, and driving HUMONGOUS SUVs to even noticed the thump when they run some poor schmuck over.
